A Year in Review

In 2007 the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport initiated with a support of the World Bank the three-year-lasting “Kosovo Development Project” with four Components including improvement of performance and sustainability of existing youth centers.
The aim of this project is to increase social cohesion, inter-ethnic interaction and cooperation among young people with different ethnic backgrounds in Kosovo.
Youth Center” Ardhmeria” was awarded with a grant of three years from 2007 until 2009.
Our youth center offers the young people a regular core program including English Courses and other foreign languages, IT skills and Knowledge, Peace and Conflict Management workshops and life skills (including Hygiene, dance courses, arts&sports).
The overall sustainability prospects of our Youth Center are positive due to the steady support by eighty percent of municipality in the form of providing free use of facilities, payment of utilities and salaries for youth workers.
By the end of 2007 the number of the beneficiaries increased 2 times reaching 253.
Until the end of 2009 the number of beneficiaries will increase 3 times compared to baseline reaching 704 beneficiaries.
These results were accomplished due to the rising outside activities, improvement of youth services offers, better equipment in the YC and the improved over-all management of the Center.
